

Weapon types being reduced, unkillable NPCs all over the place (so what if I doom the world!), the city not being a seamless part of the open world, and having one of the worst leveling systems conceived in an RPG all really add up to something that I find myself hard pressed to go back to even with the highs of Shivering Isles and some of the guild quests.

It had physics! In a large open world RPG! These days I'm much less enthusiastic towards it. The tutorial should be included in the description, it appears it includes using JB to access the PS3s harddrive.

Anyway, I got back to the board, and was browsing around, when I suddenly thought if it was possible to somehow mod the console versions with unofficial mods. I still have very strong memories of walking down to the local shopping centre that morning to grab my copy, I got the special edition with the pocket guide to Cyrodiil and after a brief conversation with the guy serving I was back on my way up the road to play it, totally high on the thought of having no commitments over the next 3 days and being free to just live in this new world.

I had the week off work and the TV arrived on Wednesday, I traveled on the bus to pick up the 360 because they still weren't that easy to get at the time and the game released that Friday. It was one of those moments where you see a video of a game and just have to play it. I was a young man and not long in a new job at the time and had made some decent money over the past few months so I made the decision to splash out on a a HD tv (26 inches!!!) an Xbox 360 and a copy of this, I basically bought the set up to play Oblivion after I watched the deep dive videos narrated by Todd.
